Toolbox - Reducing San Francisco’s Landfill Waste

San Francisco diverts more waste from landfills than any other North American city, partially due to a partnership with a waste management company called Recology. Recology repurposes 80 percent of the city's waste, easing demand for natural resources, minimizing pollution, and boosting the local economy. In fact, if the entire United States recycled at San Francisco's capacity, it could create 2.3 million new jobs. Here are some of the technologies that make this possible.
